About Dr. Shahla
Dr. Shahla is a Consultant Radiologist and Head of the Radiology Department at Muscat Private Hospital, Oman, a role she has held since joining the hospital in June 2023. She brings more than 17 years of experience in diagnostic radiology, including breast imaging and image-guided breast intervention, gained across university-affiliated and governmental hospitals in Iran before relocating to Oman.
Dr. Shahla completed her Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 2002, and went on to specialize in Radiology at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, where she obtained her Iranian Board Certification in Radiology in 2008. During her residency, she was recognized as a Top Resident in Radiology for her performance in the National Residency Promotion Examinations, and was later honored as a National Outstanding Physician by the Islamic Republic of Iran Medical Council.
Prior to relocating to Oman, Dr. Shahla practiced in both university-affiliated and governmental hospitals in Iran, where she combined clinical radiology with medical education, training medical students and radiology residents. She also founded and directed one of the most active mammography and ultrasonography centers in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.
Her expertise spans the full range of diagnostic imaging modalities, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, conventional radiography, fluoroscopy, and bone densitometry, along with image-guided procedures. She has particular interest and experience in breast imaging, women's and obstetric imaging (including prenatal ultrasound and 4D scanning), musculoskeletal imaging, and neuroradiology.
Dr. Shahla combines clinical excellence with departmental leadership, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the training of healthcare professionals. She is committed to providing accurate, timely, and patient-centered diagnostic services that support the best possible clinical decision-making.
